Yes, I finished weaving the shibori warp. And I found out why it took so long! The finished piece was just over 3 yards in length. So the original warp must have been 4 yards instead of 3 because I used some at the workshop. No wonder I was surprised that I didn’t finish weaving it sooner. Oh well. It will shrink some – though mostly width-wise and it’s already only 7” wide. It will make a long narrow scarf which I prefer anyway. At least that’s what I’m telling myself. I’m not going to give it away because the wool I used is not particularly soft which doesn’t usually bother me but others might have a more sensitive neck. I need to take a photo before I tie the shibori ties and it’s dark right now.
So I played with this:

Your dominant hues are cyan and green. Although you definitely strive to be logical you care about people and know there's a time and place for thinking emotionally. Your head rules most things but your heart rules others, and getting them to meet in the middle takes a lot of your energy some days. Your saturation level is medium - You're not the most decisive go-getter, but you can get a job done when it's required of you. You probably don't think the world can change for you and don't want to spend too much effort trying to force it. Your outlook on life is very bright. You are sunny and optimistic about life and others find it very encouraging, but remember to tone it down if you sense irritation. |
Not my favourite colour actually but the description is pretty much me, surprisingly.

Hi Louisa,
I took that little quiz a while ago and got the same colour as you! I do find that I use varying shades of aquamarine fairly regularly.
I'm not a weaver but love reading about it. Have you read Terri Bibby's Blog, Weaving a Life? http://www.saltspringweaving.com/blog/
So if we're the same colour, is the description fitting you too, Cyndi?
Thanks for the link. I knew about Terri and her Saori weaving but hadn't seen her blog. The weaving she and her students do is interesting but very different from mine! I'm much more into structure and function than colour/texture/serendipity. But just weaving at all is worthwhile.
I think the description fits me fairly well.
I don't have room in my tiny apartment to get into weaving very much. I was thinking of getting one of those table top looms where my granddaughters and I could learn to weave scarves or bracelets or...
Those bead looms look kind of interesting too! :)
